Our waitress was on us as soon as we sat down. We went for the clams casino, tons of bacon. I would have liked some peppers and onions, but they were tasty. The oysters po boy was as good as you could expect if you're not in NOLA. The oysters wee fried well and they were fresh. The rolls was dressed with lettuce, tomato and remoulade. The roll is where you see the difference from NOLA. The shortrib ragu tasted like the shortrib was cooked all day. The sauce was rich and flavorful. That with the pappardelle paired perfectly together. Not bad and local.

We went for dinner at The Buck Hotel where I had the best oyster po'boy I have had in years. It was absolutely delicious. As good as anything I've had in NOLA. The oysters covered the roll and stuck out the sides, there was fresh, crisp lettuce (but not too much!) and slices of a tomato that tasted like it had just been picked, plenty of pickles, and hot sauce (a necessity!) on the side. It was served on a delicious roll -- crispy on the outside and topped with sesame seeds and nice and squishy on the inside. If you like oyster po'boys and have been jonesing for one, head to The Buck! So damn good! What else was delicious? Companions had clams casino which they reported were over the top and the best they've ever tasted. Also ordered were the wings, which were enormous. It looked more like a plate of a whole chicken than just wings! They were well cooked, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Wings can be ordered with a selection of sauces or no sauce or sauce(s) on the side. Service was excellent! Our waiter was very attentive without being annoying. Everything we asked for was brought to us promptly. Our drinks - Hendrix gin and tonic, one with lime and two with cucumber -- were perfect and arrived exactly as we had ordered. The ambiance in the dining areas is changing. Lights have been added to each table. Sitting by one of the fireplaces was so warm and cozy, really appreciated on such an extremely cold evening. Would we go again? Yes, as often as we can!

My sister and I decided to treat ourselves to somewhere new, for us, and we decided to finally try The Buck. We were happy we did. The food was delicious, the staff were wonderful, and the atmosphere was very festive and pretty. Really put us in the holiday spirit. If you happen to be in the NE Philly area, Check Them Out!
